Rain Diary
Rain Diary was formed four years ago in Helsinki/Tampere. "When the band was established, we were all in a similar situation: each of us had failed in previous projects, in building a real cohesion between absolute musical devotion and the quest for success" says Joni Bitter. "We were all longing for a group that one could call a creative home, a haven for mind to rest, but at the same time, a group that would strive for greater audience".
First Rain Diary?s music was mostly based on acoustic verses, but quickly took a more electronic direction, and is currently evolving into dark wave and industrial flavoured landscapes. "The machines were a natural addition to our music? The basic idea is, firstly, to grasp the perfect melody, and then, to colour the musical texture with the shades of Tommi's lyrical message... and most often the message is rather sad and cruel. Therefore the coldness of machinery relates perfectly to the nature of pain" Joni continues. "All the band members share a common goal: to create music that not only touches the listeners? hearts but also fills the void of our very own souls."
* In autumn 2008, the band released its debut EP, Rain Diary, which was quickly sold out and became an underground favourite in semi-gothic circles. The director Juha Lankinen (Sara, Jonna Tervomaa, Emmi, etc.) shot a music video for the song 'It's Only Rain'.
* In spring 2009 Rain Diary started to work on its debut album with the producer Jaani Peuhu (Iconcrash, Kwan, Thunderstone, etc.), and the first single 'Lost' was released on January 6th 2010 supported by the video by Jani Saajanaho (Before The Dawn, Profane Omen, Misery Inc. etc.)
* Currently the band is seeking a record deal to elevate things to a whole new professional level.
